Dear Family Member or Friend (insert their name),
Many of you are aware of Jonathan’s medical condition Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH). Currently, Treatments for NKH are what Jonathans’ doctors call “band-aids” they treat the symptoms but do nothing to treat the actual disorder. Currently there is very little research done on NKH and treatments for NKH due to lack of funds. One doctor only requires $40,000 dollars to maintain his research for one year.
Parents of NKH children formed a nonprofit called Hope for NKH in January 2006. The purpose of our nonprofit is to promote public awareness of NKH, promote and fund research and offer emotional support to families affected by this disorder. We operate with an all-volunteer staff operate our organization and the only expenses are for general office supplies. I have volunteered to help in a letter writing campaign we a holding this month.
I am asking for your help to keep research moving forward for better ways to diagnosis and treat this disorder. All I ask is for a $25 tax-deductible contribution.
